i would like to say a massively huge thank you to the Zoetmulders for having us stay over in their lovely
beach cottage. Cam and i were spoilt with hospitality, wine, freshly spear fished yellow tail and leerie and to any laughs
Even though the swell was tiny Seals beachie was pretty fun i spent the whole weekend surfing my piggy
from the bottom of my heart i was very sad to leave ..
but i wont lie home is pretty good to 
so the Bloodscan Industry event was held at the Point
as you can see in the first image the ocean was flat.. and it decided to stay more or less that way throughout the weekend
I surfed for the Nixon team SUPER stoked they included me but unfortunately i lost out in my first heat (booohooo)
i thought the small waves would give me an advantage over the fully grown men i was surfing against
at least i didnt get combo’d and if i had lucked into one of the only two set waves of the heat im pretty sure i would have had a pretty good chance or if i had decided to surf my little groveller surfboard aka piggy i laaaaaf that thing annyhoo
Mikey went on to annalate both the Junior and Open Mens division walking away with a pretty amazing result and a nice little inflation to his bank account ( wont lie im just the tiniest bit jealous)
Tanika Hoffman won the u/20 girls division with Heidi Palmboom coming second . i miss contests so much
i miss my friends so much it was fantastic to see almost everyone all at one time .
hopefully next year the Bloodscan will be bigger and better ( which would be crazy because it was already pretty great)
AND crossing fingers they include an Open Womens division for all us grannies !

it is also my wonderful little girlflieeeend Heidi’s birthday today so yay for weekend celebrations.
Yay for friends and Dear Faye whom Cam and i have decided to try and keep company at her housie i promise i will cook and clean and bring you things to smile about like cookies honestly i must be the worlds worst procrastinater going to decorex in about 5 minutes and still sitting at my desk pretending to do a pizza box label ..

Yesterday tragedy hit once again. A fellow lover of the ocean and wave rider has fallen.
its strange how i have never met David . but i sat at college yesterday afternoon after everybody had left and cried
Surfers and all ocean dwellers have a deep connection we may not know each other but the moment one of us falls its as if we have lost a brother .. which we have. we are a community .
the senseless way in which this death happened is what i think has enraged the entire surfing community . Chumming must stop
Shark Men you have blood on your hands
you are a bunch of money hungry cowboys, we don’t blame the shark we have the greatest amount of respect for the ocean and the oceans inhabitants more so than you so called scientific researchers. what help has come from your tracking? have you found the cure for cancer? have you found the reason for global warming for the marine life’s drastic decline?
NO … you don’t need to step into the ocean to realise humans and selfish couch potato gluttonous fools are the ones to blame. you eat our fish you toy with our wildlife for what?
to quench your unsustainable need for more, more drama, more food, more delicacies , more entertainment
why must one of us die for you . I only hope that people finally man up and make a stand
chumming should be illegal in the false bay. in South Africa
